Overview

The Cross-border MentHERship program is a mentorship program designed to help Canadian women entrepreneurs looking to expand or grow their business into the U.S market. This initiative brings together seasoned female mentors from the U.S. to guide participants in their efforts as they explore the dynamic and competitive market in the U.S.

The program starts April 15, 2024 and ends August 8, 2024. On the last day of the program, participants will be invited to the Women Entrepreneurs Showcase to promote their businesses and have an opportunity to win additional prizes.

Eligibility

The Cross-border MentHERship program is open to businesses owned or co-owned by women. We are looking for businesses that meet the following eligibility criteria:

  • Women owned/co-owned small businesses operating in Windsor-Essex region
  • Business is currently in operation no more than 5 years old
  • Looking to enter or expand to the US market

Program Highlights

Each participant will receive up to 4 mentorship sessions with an experienced female mentor from the International Strategic Management’s team to help them with:

  • Business strategies
  • Market entry strategies
  • Legal and regulatory guidance
  • Networking opportunities
  • and more…

Although we suggest one mentor meeting per month, the mentorship sessions are flexible and will be arranged to suit participants and mentors’ availability and need. The goal of the program is to provide mentorship and advisory support to participants when they need it as they navigate the U.S. market.

At the end of the program, participants will be invited to showcase their businesses at a public showcase and networking event where they will have the opportunity to promote their businesses and share their stories. There is also an opportunity for participants to win some awesome prizes!

  • Application review period: April 1 – 5, 2024
  • Successful candidates notified: Monday, April 8, 2024
  • Program starts: Monday, April 22, 2024 with in-person Meet and Greet event at 4:30pm at EPICentre
  • Program ends and Showcase: Thursday, August 8, 2024
